The protagonist of this entry. Around the beginning of the story, strange things begin happening to him. Another voice taunting him in his head, mysterious girls visiting him in his dreams, and strange visions of a tower and times long past. Gunnar is a generally passive person, erring on the side of caution. Where people like his sister are fond of running headfirst into action, Gunnar would rather play it safe.
Gunnar works at the local bar and inn. His works varies between handling the bar and it's customers or taking inn visitors depending on the whims of the boss. It's not the first thing Gunnar would like to be doing, but it's good money, and one can hear some interesting stories from the visitors there. Zuleika seems to be a regular at the bar, so the two of them end up having plenty of time to talk about the latest going ons. Sometimes it can prove to be enlightening, for as uncaring and wild as Zuleika is, she does have the occasional nugget of wisdom to impart.
Gunnar mostly serves to be the voice of reason within his little group where Veili and Patchoulli get themselves into trouble almost instinctively and Priel laughs it up rather than try to stop them. Gunnar ends up becoming friends with Rhia and Caith over the course of the story due to their similar interests and mindsets as well their mutual headaches coming from the people around them.
- Veili Myrrine -

Gunnar's twin sister. Unlike Gunnar who is extremely cautious, almost cowardly, Veili is very active and outgoing, willing to get in people's faces, invade personal space and run headlong into dangerous situations. Veili may come off as stupid, plain rude, and a tomboy, but for whatever book smarts Veili doesn't have, she makes up for it by being very clever and street smart in dangerous situations.
Veili works as a waitress at the local diner in the city. People who find out this fact are always left dumbfounded at the utter uncharacteristic nature of Veili having such a job. Gunnar thinks Veili took that job on a whim rather than out of any particular skills she may have had. Regardless, she seems to be enjoying herself, so perhaps it's not a bad thing. At least she's making her own money responsibly.
During the course of the story, Veili struggles with both sides of herself. To be human, or to be a demon. The people of Miltiades have no love for demons or angels, halflings are no exception. So she must face it and decide where she wants to go.

Patchoulli's older sister. She can be rather egotistical and is fond of making fun of others. She also enjoys her share of exciting and dangerous escapades. Don't get her wrong though, she does have a good head on her shoulders and realizes the difference between bravado and stupidity. Priel can usually be found working at Hunter's Guild as a receptionist, so she hears the stories of many a traveller coming in to claim pay and take on tough jobs.
Priel doesn't get along with her sister Patchoulli at all. They both have completely different personalities, social standings, and ways of thinking. It's actually more of a one sided issue on Patchoulli's end, Priel really has nothing against her sister, but there's not much Priel can do. Stop being who she is in order to appease her insecure, jealous sister? Or live her life to the fullest regardless of what anyone says?
Within their little group, Priel mostly just goes with the flow and does whatever it is Gunnar decides. She is very smart and can provide good information on most anything, but she refuses to lead or be followed. She says it's too much effort to lead and that it's more amusing to watch what the others do. Priel herself seems to not be attached to anyone or have any clear weaknesses or dirt on her, making her seem untouchable. Perhaps people aren't digging deep enough...
- Patchoulli Aylin -

- Age: 15 -
Patchoulli is an uptight and very dishonest girl. She never wants to admit her feelings on matters and prefers to blame others and hide behind other things. Patchoulli has an obvious crush on Gunnar but due to her nature, treats him like he's an enemy, constantly yells at him and avoids him. Gunnar is confused by this and has come to think that Patchoulli hates him. He's also too caught up in other things to take any real notice of her.
Patchoulli feels inferior compared to her older sister Priel and has become somewhat distant to her. She's taller, stronger, better built, has lots of friends, and is smart. Compared to Patchoulli who is dishonest, fairly helpless by herself, doesn't have many real friends, and is constantly getting into trouble, Priel's constant teasing isn't helping to bridge the growing gap between them either. Over the course of the story, Patchoulli will have to aknowledge her own problems and try to better herself rather than lash out at others and run away.
Patchoulli works at the library as a librarian. She's not a very sociable person, so one would think that such a job would become a flaming disaster in no time flat, but she actually does a fairly good job of putting up a good public face and helping people find things when they need help. That is, provided that nothing sets her off...

- Mireille Baldwin –

- Age: 33 –
Working as an independent healer, Mireille makes house calls on request. Actually a friend of Gunnar's parents. She is barely ever in town. But she can be found wandering various areas and dungeons. She will sometimes ask for help collecting medical ingredients.
Mireille somehow ends up picking up a tag along in her explorations; Alvis. He's bored out of his mind and she could use some help, so they end up wandering around the continent together. Mireille doesn't personally get too caught up in the happenings of Gunnar and company much, but she will provide help and advice when they ask for it.
- Mir Clarence –

- Age: 16 –
She runs the city weapon shop. She a one of the main sources of mundane quests. Mir and Veili are good friends and when Mir doesn't have to work, the two of them go off for whatever crazy deeds they plan on doing that day.
Mir has a terrible temper, very little patience, and a low tolerance for stupidity. Most of the young people are afraid of her, and one yell out of her could shut an entire crowd up. She’s not afraid to get in and knock some heads around if things get too ridiculous for her tastes. Since she and Veili are friends, it usually falls upon her to constantly knock Veili upside the head whenever she does or is thinking about doing something really stupid.
Mir seems to run the weapon shop by herself and her family seems to be missing in action. She always dodges the subject as well, so no one knows. Mir actually has considerable skill with the lance, but since she's almost always has her hands full running her shop, she can't really spare too much time to go out and adventure with the party. She will help when she can though.

Scion is a rather unassuming individual who, along with this two associates, travels the land, studying ruins and doing research in the capital's library. To what end, no one can be sure. He can be a rather silly individual, cracking jokes and making fun of his partners. It doesn't seem like he has a care in the world, the way he goes on. But maybe there is something more to him. Something people aren't seeing.
Scion is a rather unassuming individual who, along with this two associates, travels the land, studying ruins and doing research in the capital's library. To what end, no one can be sure. He can be a rather silly individual, cracking jokes and making fun of his partners. It doesn't seem like he has a care in the world, the way he goes on. But maybe there is something more to him. Something people aren't seeing.

Morrighan is an associate of Scion's. She usually can be found alongside him as they trek the continent, traveling and studying the ancient ruins of the past to unearth whatever clues they can find. If one thing is clear though, it's that Morrighan absolutely does not enjoy the work they're doing.
She gives off the air of nobility, constantly complaining about getting dirty, having to expend energy to run here and there, fighting this and that. Rather spoiled really. But Scion only laughs at her misfortune and continues on. A strange relationship if there ever was one. One can only wonder what their purpose is.
Tyr is Morrighan's older brother. He's good with his head and spends a lot of time researching. While Scion and Morrighan are usually out exploring, Tyr can be found in the capital's library, perusing their countless volumes of books to his own ends. Tyr is also an Alchemist, and his endless experimentation and transmutation of objects only adds to his long, and sleepless days.
